From the President's Desk: Update on current and upcoming events

Dear Members and Friends of the German-American Club of the Carolinas,

Summer break is over, and I hope you all had a good summer. On September 7th we’ll start up our Stammtisch meetings again, this time at a new location, Guacamole Mexican Grill, 1071 Fernwood Glendale Road, Spartanburg.  Then on October 6th is the Spartanburg International Festival. Club News and Upcoming Events

Dear Members and Friends of the German-American Club of the Carolinas,

I hope you have had a great summer and are getting ready for the fall.  Here are a few announcements to keep you in the loop for future events.

Please save the date.  The Spartanburg International Festival will be on Saturday, October 1, 2016, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The German-American Club will again have its brats/cake and culture booths.  Requests for assistance will be coming soon.  

Please save the date for the TEASE art exhibition, October 1, 2016, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. You can find more information regarding this on the Calendar.

In addition, we have a couple of other nice events planned for the rest of the year.  Please stay tuned for further announcements.

Please send items for the next newsletter by Friday, September 2, to William Gray (williamjosephgray@gmail.com).  The Board has made the decision to send out a newsletter four times a year instead of monthly.

EVENT: GAC/Spartanburg Hispanic Alliance Fun Day! (May 22, 2016)

Dear Members and Friends of the German-American Club,

The German-American Club and the Spartanburg Hispanic Alliance have organized a  *F U N * D A Y * on Sunday May 22nd.  SAVE THE DATE!  

We have reserved the picnic area right at the lake of Croft State Park (450 Croft State Park Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29302) for Sunday, May 22nd.  The correct picnic area has been circled on the attached map “Croft State Park Map 1.png.”  You will find more details on Croft State Park in the attached flyer and the second map.

The event will start at 1:30 pm and end around 5:30 pm. This will be a pot-luck.  Everybody can bring a dish from his/her home country. Remember to bring camping chairs, games, and canoes. When entering the park area a nominal fee to enter the park is required. Fees are $2 for an adult, $1.25 for SC seniors, and free for folks of age 15 or younger.
